Newhaven Strategic Network
NSN aims to:

Deliver the agreed Masterplan for the continuing regeneration of Newhaven to ensure Newhaven becomes a sustainable, thriving town

Maintain a broad based strategic level partnership including representation from the statutory sector, business sector, community and French partners

Link NSN to the wider strategic agenda including the District Local Strategic Partnership, East Sussex LAA, East Sussex Economic Partnership and the Regional Economic Strategy

Involve the local community at the heart of the regeneration of Newhaven

Maintain action and strategy groups to implement the 27 agreed priorities
In 2006/2007 NSN has:

Supported action groups to take forward the identified priorities for action including: tourism and culture; business and skills development; open spaces; education; crime and community safety; young people; physical activity; health and transport

Initiated an infrastructure action group which has sought funding for a Physical Development Vision for Newhaven

Continued support for the construction of an Enterprise Gateway building and secured funding of £250,000 towards its development

Supported NewCEP in securing £100,000 for the delivery of supported employment work

Undertook the annual review of progress to the Masterplan objectives March 2007

Convened quarterly meetings of the NSN Board to review progress against the objectives of the Masterplan

Participated in a range of consultations and strategic planning activities at a District, County and regional level
-
Maintained funding from 4 key partners for Development Manager role

NCDA continues to Chair NSN and support the maintenance of the multi-agency partnership

NSN Regeneration Manager taken on the role of Chair of the District Local Strategic Partnership
In 2006/2007 NSN included representation from: Newhaven Town Council, Lewes District Council, East Sussex County Council, Sussex Police, Newhaven Chamber of Commerce, Newhaven Community Development Association (Chair), Newhaven Management Initiative, South East England Development Agency (SEEDA), Sussex Downs and Weald PCT, Sussex Downs College, Enterprise Works and Dieppe Chamber of Commerce.
